This beach is located on the farthest side of the island, as most people don’t want to take the longer walking trip to get there. However, with a complimentary ferry ride to the area, you can get there in less time and hit the water sooner. On a cruise stop at Labadee, Haiti you can hit the sandy beaches, book water sports activities, or take zip line down from the top of a mountain. The Dragon’s Breath zipline is a must-do activity for thrill-seekers, spanning the entire length of Labadee. Whether you’re an experienced zipliner or a beginner, you’ll never forget the island and ocean views from this nearly 3,000-foot zipline adventure.

Stockholm Kicks Off Busy Cruise Season With 121 Calls

The Dragon’s Breath zip-line starts 450 feet atop a hill and takes visitors on a thrilling ride over the water, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding area. One of the advantages of visiting Labadee is its accessibility—even the largest of Royal Caribbean’s fleet can dock at its pier, saving passengers from having to take tenders to reach the shore. Once travelers arrive, paved trails make it easy to navigate the resort by foot or by wheelchair. For a romantic escape or to enjoy some quality time with family and friends, rent a private beach bungalow or luxury cabana for the day. Prices range from $263 for a beach bungalow for 8 guests up to an over-the-water cabana at Nellie’s Beach for $579. Labadee, Haiti is privately owned and the only way to visit is by booking a cruise with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity or Azamara cruise ships that include Labadee in their itinerary.

Just like any port you visit, you will need your SeaPass card to disembark and for use on the island. Regardless of which beach you end up going to, you should bring some cash with you for tips. Chairs are complimentary, but there are locals on Labadee who will help you set them up and it is customary to provide a tip for the assistance.

Getting Around Labadee Haiti

This area, leased by Royal Caribbean International, is a private resort that’s a bit of a hidden treasure in the Caribbean. There are a couple buffets and many bars in Labadee, so you will have all you food and drink nearby during your Labadee Port day. I love any excuse to get out on the water and I think Jet Skis are a great way to do it! The Labadee jet ski rentals are for one hour, which is the perfect amount of time to explore the peninsula and get some thrills. In addition to showcasing Haiti’s natural beauty, Labadee also does a decent job of showcasing the local culture. At many private destinations, you won’t interact with a single local person.

The beach itself is named for an Englishwoman who, according to legend, arrived on its shores during the years the area was frequented by buccaneers. She supposedly set up a trading post and tavern to serve visiting ships and their crews. You'll find homages to both — Nellie's Outpost and Nellie's Tavern — on-site during your visit. Adventure Ocean Oasis is located in the central part of the resort between Adrenaline Beach and Nellie’s Beach. This area is reserved for the youngest ones, and you can’t miss it as it’s on the main road where the tram stops! It has a water park and kids’ splash zone filled with toys, geysers, fountains, and a “wreck” of a pirate ship.

Relax on comfy chairs while you watch the waves go by until you hit the stop where you will be able to go snorkeling or just hop in the water with a pool noodle. Whether you want to splash around in the water, or just stay on the boat, you will have a great time on this luxurious yacht as you listen to music and drink a beverage. You can whip, turn, and zoom off into the open sea and give yourself a thrill ride you won’t forget with this wave jet tour.

How can you tell the difference between the islands when you're trying to choose the best itinerary for your vacation? Read on for our breakdown of Labadee vs. CocoCay, so you know exactly what to expect on your cruise. At Arawak Aqua Park, located in Columbus Cove, you can bounce across giant floaties shaped like icebergs before splashing back into the bay's calm, clear waters. There are also some trampoline-style floaties and inflatable slides that shoot you right into the sea.

It's located at Dragon's Breath Rock, near the tip of the Labadee peninsula. Grab a seat on the pub's stone terrace and take in the island's rocky, windswept coast while enjoying some snacks and your favorite libations. This area is so pretty, it's sometimes used for spa treatments and even weddings. If you want to explore the culture and traditions of native Haitians, there are several Labadee shore excursions you can book. Some of them include a visit to a local village, while some include cultural workshops and a stroll around Labadee.

Most cruises calling at Labadee depart from Miami or Orlando, visiting one or two other ports like CocoCay, Nassau, Key West, Falmouth, or Grand Cayman. Some 8-night cruises will call at ports like San Juan, St Maarten, and Antigua. In 2019, there were over 160 cruise ship calls at Labadee, with 720,000 passengers visiting the resort. On a Southern Caribbean cruise to Haiti, you’ll experience a private island experience unlike any other. Unwind in the tucked-away paradise of Labadee, where pristine beaches, frozen cocktails, and sparkling blue waters await.

Here, situated on a peninsula on the northern coast of Haiti, visitors can zip line, kayak, snorkel, or simply lounge on one of the peninsula’s white sandy beaches. The resort also features several shops, restaurants, and bars, making it an all-inclusive destination. With your cruise ship docking in this port, you will have a full barbeque lunch waiting for you on the island.

From everything I’ve read, Barefoot Beach is the best beach in Labadee. However, it is restricted to Pinnacle Crown and Anchor members and suite guests. Based on all the other blog posts I read, we initially started the day at Columbus Cove. The disadvantage to Nellie’s beach compared to Adrenaline beach is there are less nearby amenities. In addition, I prefer the open ocean view from Adrenaline beach to the view of the port you get at Nellie’s.

The star attraction at Labadee is the Dragon's Breath zip line, which is a 2,800 foot zip line over the ocean that takes guests across the span of Labadee. I generally do not think water shoes are necessary at beaches in the Caribbean, but Labadee's beaches can be tough. You can swim up to the floating bar and climb aboard for a seat anywhere around circular bar.
